Brand Champions is not a new idea by any means, but it is so important you understand what it is. The Venture Republic definition is “Brand champions are internal and external story tellers who spread the brand vision, brand values and cultivate the brand in an organization. Every organization needs committed and passionate brand champions. The more employees the organization can turn into brand champions, the better will it be equipped to build and maintain strong brand equity.”
So what does that mean? It means the people that love you, that sing your praises, that really comprehend what you stand for and do, that promote you because they know you are trustworthy, reliable, etc., are out there networking for you. They can either be within or outside of your organization. So why is this important? Because the more people promoting you the better obviously, but it leverages your ability to reach more people – especially if you are a one man band. I urge you to make a list of your top ten brand champions and keep in touch with them about what you are doing, when you are doing it, and how. If they have a good understanding of what you are up to, it will give them more fuel while they are out there telling your story.
I also want to recommend a blog I found that highlights this topic. Check it out and tell me what you think.
